DESCRIPTION:Chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCDs) have become the heavi
 est burden to healthcare systems worldwide [1\,2\,3]. About 41 million peop
 le die of CNCDs each year\, accounting for 71% of all global deaths [4]. Wh
 ile CNCDs are traditionally thought to be more prevalent in developed count
 ries\, the majority of the increase in these diseases globally is occurring
  in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) [5]. Out of the 41 million dea
 ths which are attributable to CNCDs each year\, 85% are in LMICs [4]. The C
 NCD burden is particularly problematic for sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) since C
 NCDs are already a major cause of mortality in the sub-region\nOur Vision i
 s excuting handling donor funded programs to enhance good health and reduc
 e poverty.
